Hello Mudeford Members, and everyone who came to the RYA Push the Boat Out Open Day on the 13th May
A huge thank you to all of you who helped tirelessly during Saturdays open day, it was an unbelievable day with lovely weather and many smiling faces. I counted at least 24 members pitching in with meeting and greeting, helming, cutting up endless traybakes, serving teas, dressing people, safety boating, docking boats and loading our visitors, and that didn’t include the unseen upfront preparation work including our excellent PR machine and getting the barge ready – did you all see the new sign? (Could you not? Ed)
We had 78 individual sails with over 86 people signed in and I think only one person went overboard. I was fortunate enough to see all the smiling faces and sparkling eyes as they got off the boats all saying variations of ‘it’s brilliant and I loved it’. The success was reflected in the galley with people enjoying things so much they insisted on giving contributions and our first new members came down and signed up on the Sunday.

Next Friday the 19th May is our first Junior sail training and Social Sailing evening with our Hartley Boats starting at 5.30 – to be followed by our New Members Party at 7.30 with beer (thankyou Hall and Woodhouse for the beer) and food FREE to members – £5.00 per person for non-members.
The forecast looks good so see you all there,
Jane Challener, Commodore
