BUILDING AND CONTROLLING MODEL FLYING BOATS, AN ILLUSTRATED TALK, BY MIKE ROACH
This is on 7th October at the Stanpit Village Hall, starting at 1930. It will last about 45 minutes, then a break for a glass of wine with cheese and biscuits, and then a chance to ask questions and watch some videos of the planes flying at Longham Reservoir. There will be a small charge for Club funds.
The talk will concentrate on the models of the Saunders-Roe Princess flying boat, built in the 1950s at Cowes on the Isle of Wight, and the Short “Golden Hind” Empire boat which flew from Poole Harbour on the Middle East run during WWII.
Firework Supper – Saturday 4 November 2017 from 6.30 pm
A very popular annual event – come down and enjoy a warming jacket potato and some hot punch whilst watching the firework display from the roof of the barge. This starts around 7.45 pm and don’t forget to bring your own sparklers!
